I am born in Ampara, Eastern Province and studied in Ampara Junior school (presently Kavantissa Vidyalaya), Ampara Saddhatissa Vidyalaya and later D.S.Senanayake National School till G.C.E.A/L.Then, 1 was selected to the University of Ruhuna and I followed the Bachelor of Commeree(Special) Degree Programme and successfilly completed.

I was able to enter Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) in 1992 on the results of the open competitive examination.

successfilly completed Masters Degree in Sociology conducted by the Universitly of Kelaniya. Further, I completed a course in Disaster Management at the ADPC, Thailand, a course in PovertyElevation Strategies at the ADRA, Malaysia, a Diploma Programme in Material Management at the Institute of Material   Management. I have successfully completed several certificate courses   conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) including the certificate in Public Administration. 1 have gained experience in public service while serving in Districts including Polonnaruwa, Ampara, Monaragala, Badulla, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya.

Presently, Iam serving as an activist in Civil Society and a Consultant to Proressional and Business Organizations.
